This clay jug with a lid is called makitra. In the old days it was used for poppy grinding. Now the item can be used for baking or dinner serving. The jug is made of grey clay, twice fired in the oven at the temperature up to 970 °C. Between it the item is processed with milk. It is called the milk firing technique. The pot with a lid is painted with engobes (mineral paints), decorated with ornaments and smeared to shine using the polishing technique. You can put it in the oven or dishwasher. Its volume is 3 l.
