Traditional handmade pysanka is created on the basis of a hollow chicken egg. It is decorated with magnificent ornaments using wax painting technique. They are made with the use of a special tool, hot wax and aniline dyes. Black background on this painted egg strengthens protective properties of the symbols represented on its surface.
